Firefly Ambush

Took a walk last week and I got ambushed by fireflies! It sure made my day. Good thing I had my trusty 7D. What do you with random footage of fireflies? The correct answer is set it to The Album Leaf and hope that makes up for the shakiness.

Bugs in the Air.

Saw this little narrated animation on NPR's website this morning. Robert Krulwich reminds me once again that journalism is nothing more than the right blend of teaching and storytelling. This is the kind of news that leaves you satisfied and nourished.

The Best of SATO 48 2010

This year there were over 90 teams in the SATO 48 Film Challenge, 80 of witch are eligible for awards. Here's my top 6 picks from this year (that I've seen):

Love & Allergies | SATO48 2010

Made this film for the SATO48 Film Challenge here in Springfield, MO.

Participants had to create a film in under 48 hours and include the following:

1. Must begin and end with a distinct sound.

2. Must use a shadow at a turning point.

3. Must use the numbers 1-5 in sequence, but not in the same scene.

4. Must use the official SATO48 2010 print in it's original and modified version

Robert Eugene Smith - 1927-2010

We lost a good one Saturday evening. Robert E. Smith helped us with a short film 3 years ago and we have remained friends ever since. He was a treasure of a man and I'm so thankful that I had the chance to know him.
